Dumpster Dive: Operation Window to Coat Rack Complete

Well- I love it! I'm so glad I drove over to the house that posted "free old fashioned windows on the curb" to Facebook! Here is what I did:

Sanded, cleaned, painted blue and then, with a paper towel, smeared some white on top. Then I sanded again  to distress it a bit.

I attached my (half off) $8 worth of hooks from Hobby Lobby and things were getting good!

Finally I hung it with picture frame hangers on anchored screws and voila!!

I'm totally in love! I may go back and put some vinyl lettering or photographs or chalk board paint on it- but for now I love it plain! Woohoo!

Dumpster Dive for Windows!

Check out this awesome find! I'll be working on these as soon as I can!

2014! Hello again!

In the time since I last posted we've moved and changed in almost every way. We go to a new, small, church (St. Andrews) and we love it. We bought a new home down the street from our best friends and family. And both kids can eat whatever they want: NO MORE ALLERGIES!

I had my appendix taken out. We made a few trips to South Florida and Tally. We have been back for the annual beach trip twice. North Carolina (we did that twice). My sister turned 40 so we all ran her first 5k! We've cruised, done Disney a few times and we got a new puppy! Can't complain. Don't want to anyway!

Life Hacks! Keep toddlers from climbing ladders!

Our friends have an amazing (super-high) new tree house. So obviously there is no where else my two year old would rather be! Disaster waiting to happen until...

Go Vegan! 4-29-13

Feeling so good since making the change to a vegan and sugarless diet! Don't seem to get sick-- or stay sick if I do, no more coughing in my sleep, energy level through the roof, dropping weight like its ma' job and really enjoying my days!

Made a sandbox on a whim- love it! Been working on the back yard a lot-- very soothing and satisfying. Did you know lemon grass repels Mosquitos?

The boys are doing awesome. Evan is huge and says "mommy" now, and is half way up the rock wall at the moment (little monkey!). Aaron is all over the place and still cracks me up regularly.

We got to spend some time in Orlando again with my mom while Joey was away for work. Sea world, Nickelodeon hotel and shopping. It was a lot of fun.

GRU came and gave half a yard an amazing makeover because they dug it up in order to fix an underground pipe- totally worth it! What a blessing that whole thing was. From having "mighty machines" around to entertain the kids to the turf, bushes, and new fence.

Better get back to the life unfolding in front of my face here--- so blessed.

Orlando is where it's at! 3-27-13

I The kids and I just got home from our first solo-trip. I think this is one of the biggest times I have been hit with the revelation that not-being-pregnant-or-breastfeeding is a big deal! I had the energy to take care of both kids, enjoy Sea World, drive to and from Orlando, visit with my dear friend Sarah, and still sneak out that night for some dessert without the kids (thank you Kris!). I am so glad I was brave enough to go. The kids loved Sea World (surprise, right?), and I love watching them have a great time. Joey is in Atlanta for work and though we always have more fun with him, it was nice to see that I could handle a theme park with two toddler-ish-aged kids alone.

Good Mornings 1-24-13

I look at these two little boys. Not even so little anymore. But certainly smaller than they will be most of their lives (God willing).

They are learning to play together. Their paths collide and they interact and they are less and less living side by side than they are living together.

I never lived with a sibling for very long. I was essentially an only child growing up. I have no experience to relate to what it is like to have this kind of a relationship. It is such an honor to watch it unfold. That I was given the gift of two perfect boys to help raise is something I could never express enough gratitude for. It is a good morning indeed.
